About event
Omar Sosa, piano
Liceu Big Band
Sergi Vergés, direction
What happens when you join the overflowing imagination of Cuban pianist Omar Sosa in orchestral language with a guru of our scene, Sergi Vergés, creator and director of the very powerful Lice Big Band? We do not know, but we intuit that it will be an arrow, no doubt. There has already been a first approach, let's confess it: this spring, Sosa took advantage of a few days that was in Barcelona to go to an essay of the Big Band of the Conservatori Liceu, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary. Hundreds of musicians, programs, scores and concerts have passed through the training. But collaborations of this type, such as the one they did two years ago with Richard Bona, have special air and energy. In the program, one of the works that Sosa recorded with the NDR Bigband, is: sensual. Emotion and, yes, a lot of sensuality.
