About event

Until the end of the 19th century, a total of 21 cemeteries were established in the city and its suburbs. Five of them have been preserved to this day (Cemetery at the Kozej bráne, Ondrejský cintorín, Nový Mikulášský - Podhradský cintorín, New Orthodox Jewish Cemetery and Neological Jewish Cemetery).

As part of guided tours, we will gradually introduce all these cemeteries, focusing on their symbolism and selected personalities who found their final resting place there.

Ondrejský cintorín was declared a national cultural monument in 1988. Around 15,000 tombstones were recorded here as recently as 1966, but the period of socialism also left irreversible damage at this place as a result of efforts to transform it into a city park. of the past.

Entrance fees:
Person from 16 to 70 years: €6.50
Seniors over 70 and disabled: €3.90

When paying in cash, the single price is €7.50/person; discounts, including senior discounts, do not apply in this case.

The meeting will take place in the area of the cemetery behind the Cathedral of the Exaltation of the Noble and Life-Giving Cross (entrance from 29. Augusta street in Bratislava - benches).

The length of the guided tour is approximately 1.5 hours.

Peter Fiala will guide you through the Andrew Cemetery from Bratislava wanderers,
