Walk along with Urbanguids on the Noordereiland, one of the best preserved historic neighborhoods of Rotterdam. In the 19th century as a link between the city and port, the island houses a rich collection of monumental buildings, warehouses and bridges. Walk past stately mansions, former shipping houses and industrial buildings that tell the story of a city that was growing rapidly quickly around the turn of the 19th century to the 20th century. The walk is accompanied by a city guide who has been living on the Noordereiland for more than 35 years!

In addition to granting a monument status to a specific building, ensembles (a combination of streets, landscaping and buildings) are then called "protected city face". Rotterdam has 8 different protected cityscapes, of which the Noordereiland is one.
