About event
The Foundation - Center for Contemporary Art announces the 30th year of the Oskar Čepan Award for visual artists up to the age of 40 (inclusive). The Oskar Čepan Award is intended for visual artists born or working in Slovakia. Slovak citizenship is not a condition if the applicant can be proven to live, create and work here. Authors who were born in Slovakia but live or work abroad can also apply.
Authors can apply to the project via the website www.oskarcepan.sk until 31 March 2026.
The application must contain all mandatory attachments in Slovak and English due to the international composition. juries:
1. portfolio with sufficient documentation of creation,
2. CV with contact details,
3. brief author's opinion.
Each and every one of the 3 laureates of the Oskar Čepan Prize 2026 will be supported with the sum of 4,000 euros, intended for the realization of the work presented at the joint exhibition in the Turčianska Gallery in Martin. The work with which they will be presented at the exhibition should be a new output of the author that has not yet been presented at an exhibition. One of the laureates*tok will receive a residency based on the choice of the management of the partner institution Residency Unlimited (NY, USA) during the months of August and September 2026.

The co-organizer of the project is the platform for the support of art collective.

Slovak visual artists, as well as artists of various nationalities who have completed their university studies in Slovakia or are currently residing and demonstrably active in Slovakia, may apply to the open call.
Authors can apply for the project through the website www.oskarcepan.sk until 31.3.2026.
The application must include all mandatory attachments in both Slovak and English due to the international composition of the jury:
1. Portfolio with sufficient documentation of artistic works,
2. CV with contact information,
3. Brief artist statement.
Each of the 3 laureates of the Oskár Čepan Award 2026 will receive support in the amount of 4000 euros intended for the realization of the work presented at the joint exhibition at the Turiec Gallery in Martin. The work presented in the exhibition should be a new and previously unexhibited output by the author. One of the laureates will be awarded a residency at Residency Unlimited (NY, USA) for the months of August and September 2026.
