If you are interested in how radio is made or how demanding the job of a presenter is, come to our building in Karlin. As part of the Open House Prague festival, we will make it available to the general public for the whole weekend.
👉 WHEN: May 23 and May 24 always from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
👉 WHERE: Building of Czech Radio Střední Čechy a Rádio Praha (Hybešova 10, 186 72 Prague - Karlín)
👉 FORM OF ACCESS: groups according to tour capacity
👉 WHAT YOU WILL SEE: corridor in the basement with a memorial plaque, ground floor – broadcasting complex of Radio Prague and Czech Radio Central Bohemia, newsroom; 1st floor – Studio A and Studio B; garden with gazebo
Information about the building:
Český rozhlas is housed in a post-secession classicist house designed by architect Josef Sakara, the sculptors Antonín Štrunc and Otakar Rákosník took part in the plastic decoration. Guided tours of the Karlín National House, which was built as a place for meeting and cultural enjoyment of local citizens, impress at first sight with their impressiveness and generosity. There was a garden restaurant with a cafe, a game room, a bowling alley, a wine bar, a winter pool table, halls with a stage and a club room.

The Open House Prague festival opens buildings and spaces normally inaccessible to the public for free during one weekend in May every year.
