About event
As part of the accompanying program of the Open House Praha festival, it will present (CPDB) a new program concept and a new visual style. ARN Studio will present an architectural design and a model of the reconstructed building of the former Prague-Bubny railway station. There is currently a competition for the contractor.
The building of the former railway station in Prague-Bubny, where almost fifty thousand Czechoslovak Jews and persons called Jews were deported in 1941-1945, a complete reconstruction awaits a background for the cultural and educational institution Center of Memory and Dialogue Bubny (CPDB). Its mission is to keep the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and to be a living place that connects the past with the presence through educational and cultural programs. Memory and Dialogue Center (formerly a Monument of Silence) is a contributory organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The new name refers to the place of memory and at the same time expresses the essence of its functioning - respects the past, but evokes the live center of the events, at the same time it also has a comment and educational dimension.
