On 13 and 14 September 2025, various monuments in Amsterdam open their doors for Open Monumentendag for free. Discover the architectural heritage during the 39th edition. The smallest church in Amsterdam opens its doors during the Heritage Days!
De Meerpadkerk, built in 1843 by carpenter Pieter Kater, is a special wooden baptist church on the rural multi -path. Originally even smaller than now, the building was expanded in 1969 with a rear part. The facade, with its simple triangular crown, is reminiscent of a classic temple in the distance.
Be surprised on Saturday afternoon by two atmospheric musical performances in the intimate church:
13:00 hrs - violinist Lisanne Soeterbroek and Pianist Li Xie play in the Intense and Op. On the Intense and Op. Ontense. On the Intense and Li Xie. 108.
2:30 pm-Enjoy the warm, infectious sounds of the Volkskoor Noord, a popular neighborhood choir from Amsterdam-Noord.
The Meerpadkerk is a hidden gem on the water. Come and admire this unique monument and enjoy a special cultural program!
