About event
The SND Opera will also open its 107th season with a festive gala concert dedicated to an exceptional personality of the opera world. This time he will pay tribute to the legendary tenor and long-time soloist of the SND Opera Sergej Larin (1956 – 2008).
Sergej Larin was one of the most important tenors of his generation. It was his engagement at the SND Opera that started his international career, which brought him to the stages of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna State Opera, London's Covent Garden, Milan's La Scala and the Paris Opera. Bratislava became his second home and he remained connected with the Slovak National Theater throughout his career.
The gala concert will feature Linda Ballová, Peter Berger, Lucia Byráková, Monika Fabianová, Katarína Hano Flórová, Dalibor Jenis, Max Jota, Tomáš Juhás, Veronika Mihálková, Tamara Morozová and Ondrej Šaling. The orchestra of the SND Opera will be led by chief conductor Tomáš Brauner. The program will include excerpts from the operas of Tchaikovsky, Dvořák, Offenbach, Bizet, Strauss, Verdi and Puccini.
Národná banka Slovenska is a proud partner of the Slovak National Theatre. The Slovak National Theater is a state-funded organization of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic.
