Ordinary is a dance theater piece by Atsushi Takahashi and Tomoya Kawamura.
The piece focuses on the theme of the "everyday; Ordinary" and explores the nature of everyday life as well as those moments in which this seemingly unshakable normality is suddenly withdrawn.
It spans various historical and contemporary eras - from the social upheavals of 1933, to the destruction of war and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, to the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami (often shortened to "Fukushima" in the West) and today's society.
Through a fusion of dance and theater, Ordinary asks a fundamental question: What meaning does the ordinary have for us all?
