About event

ORPHEUS ORGAN
📅 April 29, 2026
🕖 19:00
📍 Cathedral of St. Martina, Bratislava. Bagatelle: Echoes, followed by Abyssus, Op. 39 Ľuboš Gabča. An important place in the program is also the Sonata for organ by Pavel Krška, which in three contrasting parts represents the expressive range of the contemporary organ repertoire. These compositions will be performed by Daniel Gabčo, organist of the Cathedral of St. Martina.

The second part of the concert will feature Kristína Gabčová, who will perform the extensive composition Musica Paschalis by Ivan Hrušovský, one of the most important works of Slovak organ literature of the 20th century. The program will close with Petr Martinček's Six Easter Preludes. The individual parts of the work reflect the key moments of the Easter story - from the biblical "In the beginning was the Word" to "The Holy Spirit".

The ORFEUS ORGAN concert will offer listeners and lovers of contemporary music not only a high level of interpretation, but also the opportunity to learn about contemporary organ work, which symbolically connects tradition and the present.
