Come to the best human rights party of the year! As usual, we celebrate Human Rights Day, December 10, by meeting everyone who wants to meet, write letters in support of the unjustly imprisoned, debate, learn something, or maybe just "play."

< br/>WHEN AND WHERE?

Pracovna, Vlkova 36, Prague 3

📧✍Letters that save lives

👉Every year around Human Rights Day, our big Letter Writing Marathon campaign culminates. The largest worldwide letter campaign to help unjustly persecuted political prisoners, dissidents and other persecuted people. In some countries, free opinion or criticism of the regime is punished. We are fighting against it, among other things. worldwide letter writing. These then flood the authorities and prisons in specific countries. We have been organizing the event in the Czech Republic for over 10 years, and every year we manage to motivate people across the country to write tens of thousands of letters. And Prague's Human Rights Day Celebration is an ideal opportunity to get involved and write an important letter too, what do you think?

✊Debate on the human rights situation in Slovakia and how to learn from it

👉13 months from the (Slovak) elections and 10 months until the (Czech) elections. This is the topic of this year's Amnesty panel discussion. With our guests, we would like to focus on the situation in Slovakia, the gradual restriction of human rights, attacks on civil society, the media and others. In what did the defense of democracy fail and what are the parallels with the Czech Republic? What may and may not await us? We will also talk about the recent report on the state of human rights in Slovakia, which will be published by colleagues from Slovak Amnesty in the morning after the discussion. The director of the Slovak National Center for Human Rights Silvia Porubänová, Slovak sociologist Michal Vašečka and Czech constitutional lawyer Jan Kysela accepted the invitation to the debate. The debate will be led by the presenter of the Spotlight video program Zuzana Tvarůžková. You will be able to sign a thematic petition against the draconian law restricting freedom of assembly in Slovakia.

For example, a photo booth in support of the Belarusian opposition leader Maryja Kalesnikava, a raffle, the purchase of Amnesty merch in the form of candles, bags, T-shirts or perhaps tattoos, as well as human rights-educational "networking." We don't want to reveal too much, but stickers will play a major role in this activity alongside human rights and interpersonal communication... Are you looking forward to it? We do! See you in the Workshop.
