In the second lecture of the autumn cycle of the archaeological cafe we will welcome a respected expert for the period of La La Lane and Celts in Slovakia, doc. PhDr. Gertrude Březinová, CSc. From the Institute of Archeology of SAS, v.v.i.
The lecture will focus on specific ornaments made of two very different materials - glass and sapropelite. Glass and glass products are the work of man, proof of his knowledge of both material and production process. On the contrary, sapropelite is natural material. He addressed a person primarily with the availability and relatively simple processing way. Black color looks mysterious, even magical.
glass jewelry and sapropelite is one of the unique ornaments that the Celts have made visible and invented the techniques for its production. In a large part of Europe in the younger age of the Iron, it is an integral part of a female costume.
The lecture is intended for the general public. Admission 3 € (paid at the SNM box office - archaeological museum, payment possible only in cash).
