OSTROVY

We humans are like islands floating in the sea. Our uniqueness and individuality shines on the surface, but somewhere deep down we are united by a common bottom. Sometimes abandoned, other times full of life. We weave an imaginary chain from the days and meetings we have experienced, and it only depends on us how many fires we are willing to connect to it. We can keep our chain to ourselves, or we can take courage and link it to others. Some last forever, others break over time. Only we decide on their strength.

The Ostrovy program draws on the music and dance culture of the Podunajska, Ponitria, Požitavia, Podpoľania, Horehronia and Zemplína regions. It represents the diversity and contrasts of these areas, but at the same time looks for natural connections in them. An important motive is the person himself - a personality, performer, creator, a special island and an irreplaceable focal point of the chain. A chain that we all weave together.
