About event
🎭 Opera Fate - Leoš Janáček
📅 Date & Time: 25 April 2026, at 18:00
🏛️ Place: Janáček Theater, National Theater Brno Introspective work, investigating human fates and power of composition as a reflection of one's own experience
Musical style rich in dramatic moments, Slavic folk motifs and individual Janáček's melody
about 80 minutes (no break). The opera story is based on a real event from Luhačovice Summer - composer Janáček worked out the life fate of a young woman named Kamila, who inspired a tragic love story. Although written in 1907, the opera saw the light of day only posthumously - for the first time in a radio form in 1934 and as the first production (premiere in Brno) only in 1958.
