About event
On the 300th anniversary of the construction of the Baroque pavilion with the Vojtěška well
This festive program expresses respect for all the wells that have served us for centuries. It will take place symbolically on the last day of May in the grounds of the Břevnov Monastery. On this occasion, we will focus on the extraordinary architectural significance of the place and at the same time commemorate 300 years since the completion of the baroque Vojtěška pavilion from 1723–1726. This important building, which has been preserved in its original form to this day, is located directly above the spring of St. Vojtěch, who remains a living witness of the connection between the spiritual and folk rituals.
After the concert, it will be possible to taste the annual Vojtěška 300 beer in the local granary, which was brewed for this occasion by the St. Vojtěcha.
Program:
- folk songs on the theme of water
- Jiří Teml: Six songs from a well
- Bohuslav Martinů: Opening wells
Performers:
- members of the NeoKlasik orchestra, Václav Dlask / conductor
- Andrea Čančarová Houfková / choirmaster
