What do we bring with us from the roads? What stories carry objects of another culture? And what does it say about us? The exhibition of biographies of people and things brings the fates of non -European subjects from the collections of the Museum of the City of Bratislava and current collectors and collectors. Examines them Origin, function and circumstances under which they got into the collection fund. At the same time, it reflects the level of colonial thinking, which in the past influenced not only collector's practices, but also ideas about the world outside Europe. These objects, often souvenirs from roads, once shaped our image of other cultures. Today, we are trying to read their meaning again - with respect, critical distance and understanding. Nevertheless, the research of these subjects is becoming an important source of our knowledge, as well as a mirror of interest in other cultures that was once present in Bratislava and is still here today. This is also referred to by a layer of exhibition with an overlap to the present, which organically follows the historical one. It consists of stories of Bratislava and Bratislava citizens who create personal relationships for objects from different parts of the world.
