Beseda with Petr Papoušek and Anneli Rådestad on Jewish identity at the time of the war, moderates Pavlína Šulcová. What role is Israel playing for them and how they experience social pressure to define Israeli politics. What does it mean for their relationship with their own community, history and majority society? Together with Pavlína Šulcová, director of the memory center and drum dialogue, the participants will discuss how the past shaped the present, what today means to be part of the Jewish world and how the war - historical and current - into personal and collective identities is projected. It will try to open up space for a sensitive but important discussion of identity, trauma, belonging and responsibility - in times when to be a Jew means to be constantly between past and present, Europe and Israel, threat and safety.
