Pády impérií (diskusia s Branislavom Kovárom a Jakubom Drábikom)

We cordially invite you to Artfor for a debate with Branislav Kovár and Jakub Drábik, editors of the book Pády impéríí.

The discussion of the book, in which a team of historians, archaeologists and political scientists dives into the complex contexts and examines why powerful empires collapse, will offer a view not only into the past, but also into the future.

Why did Egypt collapse, how did the British empire end? And how will it develop with the USA, Russia or China?

In individual chapters, the book offers the history of a specific empire and analyzes the unique combination of factors that led to its decline and fall. From the ancient empires of the Maya and Rome to the more recent examples of the Spanish and Soviet empires, you will see how the interplay of geography, environment, politics, economy and culture shapes the fate of these colossal entities.

Moderated by Matej Kandrík.

We look forward to seeing you!
