🇵🇸 RESISTING ERASURE THROUGH PUBLIC DISOBEDIENCE - Palestinian flag-sewing workshop on Nakba Day 📆 May 15 • 3pm-8pm • Světova 1 Gallery
This Nakba Day, join us for a community DIY sewing workshop of collective public disobedience by creating Palestinian flags using repurposed textiles.
May 15th marks the annual commemoration of the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe) - the events preceding and following the creation of the “state of israel” in 1948. Estimated 750.000 Palestinians have been forcibly removed from their homes in a systematic ethnic cleansing operation, setting in motion the events that led to the current ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The Palestinian people have been bravely resisting their total annihilation for 77 years. The colonisation of historic Palestine is made possible through the support of Western imperial powers, which provide unconditional support to the Zionist entity while silencing dissent at home.
The Zionist project aims to erase the Palestinian history and reality - but it will not succeed. Join us and sew a Palestinian flag for free under our guidance, accompanied by educational programs with refreshments and music (full program coming soon)!
