Another edition of the charity workshop 𝑇𝑎𝑡𝑟ee👧 - 𝑘říž𝑜𝑣𝑘𝑒́ 𝑣ýš𝑖𝑣𝑘𝑦 𝑧 𝐵𝑒𝑡𝑙é𝑚𝑎
✦ Practical workshop and talk about Tatreez = cross embroidery from Palestine, about its symbols, colors and therapeutic power. We will mainly explore the Tatras from Bethlehem, Hebron and Jericho.
✧ During the evening, you will be able to embroider a bookmark for a book, a tablecloth or a selected motif directly on your clothes (star of Bethlehem, cypress, palm tree, key, olive branch, etc.)
✦ No previous experience or knowledge is necessary.
✿ The workshop will be led by Lucie Solfronková. She studied international relations and has been interested in the Middle East for many years, for example she wrote a collection of poems Cedrová and Jasmínová. She has been working on Palestinian Tatríz embroidery since 2023, she was inspired by similar workshops in Europe and America, she is part of the international network of Tatríz hubs, where dozens of women around the world are trying to preserve this cultural treasure in the diaspora.
Entrance fee is voluntary (it will be donated to the Doctors Without Borders organization) + suggested donation for materials
✶ The workshop will take place in the Minuta room (no. 125) on the 1st floor.
