About event
The title, crowned with the prestigious Laurence Olivier award for the best new comedy, returns to the White Theatre.
Family reunions bring a lot of absurd situations, even when relatives who have been separated for many years are reunited by a sad event. The three sisters return to the house, full of memories that emerge in a tangle of comic situations. A tragicomic whirlwind of searching for one's roots and asserting one's personal version of the past is launched on stage. So who is right? And does it matter at all? Old grievances, sibling rivalry, different views on life. Who does not know these problems? Three strong personalities, a tense situation, a dose of alcohol. This can't end well...or can it?
A deeply human story colored with distinctive humor and touching fates of the main characters opens up questions that concern us all. Questions about how our loved ones will remember us and how strong our family ties are. Blood is not water, but water remembers perhaps more than we would expect. Let yourself be carried away on the waves of the story of the British author Shelagh Stephenson: The Memory of Water.
The production won the Audience Award for the best production at the Theater Confrontations 2024 competition.
We will present the production on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day. We thank the EPH Foundation for supporting the performance.
