About event

The cultural landscape formed by the Plasko monastery consists of a mosaic of unique sacral buildings, small monuments, farms and ponds. The dominant and spiritual center of the landscape is Santini's highly Baroque pilgrimage church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary with the former provost in Mariánské Týnice. The link of the pilgrimage site and the monastery for centuries is an old Plaská road, complemented by statues in the Baroque, leading through the most exposed locations. Since 2024, the Plask Landscape has been the "Marking of the European Heritage" along with other Cistercian landscapes in Europe. Mgr. et Mgr. Pavel Beneš.

Mgr. et Mgr. Pavel Beneš is an art historian and the head of the historical department - the Baroque Center under the Museum and the Gallery of the Northern Pilsen region in Mariánské Týnice. The Baroque Center provides background for professional, editorial and educational activities, in the entire breadth of themes from fine arts, through spiritual life to the everyday reality of the Baroque era. The landscape is also inseparable with the Baroque, and the Baroque Center is part of the Cisterscapes International Project - the Cistercian monastery landscape, in which it acts as a professional guarantor for the monastic landscape.
