About event
Oscar winner for documentary, the story of propaganda material that became a work of reflection. 🇷🇺

Pavel "Pasha" Talankin is an enthusiastic and popular Russian elementary school teacher. He likes small-town life, harsh weather, and even dirty apartment buildings. His everyday life is disrupted by the war, of which he must become a tool as an employee of an educational institution.
He finds himself in the middle of a propaganda apparatus that absorbs the entire society. Among other things, he himself has the task of documenting everything with a camera in hand. However, he interprets this instruction in his own way and records the events as they really happen, not as the military regime would like to portray them.
The film was created on the basis of the material that Pasha brought back from Russia when he realized that he was starting to attract too much attention and that the noose was tightening around him. It was directed by the Danish documentary filmmaker David Borenstein. A quiet, intimate, and therefore overwhelming image of the crookedness of the education system, and thus of the entire country, was created.
💡 A minimalist bar (beer, lemonade and snacks) is available directly in the cinema. There are also toilets (at the café of the Ethnographic Museum) and blankets, in case you get cold in the evening.
