About event
In the countless valuable paintings in St. Mary's Church we find an incredible number of animal depictions. These are not just decorative elements, but carry deep Christian imagery within them.
For example, a depicted deer is often a reference to Psalm 42, verse 2: “As the deer longs for fresh water, so my soul, God, longs for you.”
In this tour, we look at selected animal depictions in works of art from St. Mary's Church and send you on a discovery tour yourself!
Meeting point: on Book table in the St. Marienkirche, Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 8, 10179 Berlin
Church guide: Jörg Jungmayr
As the number of participants is limited, we ask that you register.
Cost: 14 €
