About event
Mordechi Rosenfeld (Modi for short) is currently one of the most popular stand-up comedians in the USA, whose trademarks include precise observation and humor that is biting but never hurtful. "Respect and humor can coexist without any problems. Good humor brings people together," emphasizes Modi. "It gives us new perspectives.
After the quickly sold-out performances at the Jewish Cultural Days Berlin 2023, the New Yorker returns in the fall with the brand new program “Pause for Laughter”. With the evening, Modi promises the audience a short break, a distraction from difficult times.
Modi's shows generate their high entertainment factor not only due to the American's humor, but also through the involvement of the audience. Spontaneity is the key: Modi reacts incredibly quickly to the audience's heckling, so that the evenings are never the same. When the audience joins in, unforgettable shows are created: "I was overwhelmed by the 2023 guest performance at the Jewish Cultural Days. The Berlin audience was warm and enthusiastic. "This energy was extraordinary." So it's hardly surprising that Modi is looking forward to returning to the city, which impresses him enormously: "The history is palpable here, as is the creativity of its residents and their resilience. All of this seems to be very organically interwoven. This atmosphere has made a lasting impression on me."
The evening will be opened by Israeli stand-up comedian Ori Halevy, who has been based in Berlin for several years and has gained fame through the live format “Epic Comedy Berlin”.
