About event
One plays the guitar and composes songs. The second and third do the same, and the fourth plays the violin. One day they met at the Bridge and started talking. After a long rant about the genius of Tony Trischka, they tried their hand at singing in three voices and found that they sounded almost like siblings. And that they liked it, they started playing together.
For another adventure, they go to the Behind the Fence Theater.
Many things happened in 1981, but only two are relevant to our story now : the band Sem Tam was founded in southern Bohemia and Loes van Schaijk was born in the Netherlands.
With Pavlína Jíšová and Jarda Matějů, the Sem Tam band won the interpretation competition of the Porto festival twice in a row. Pavlína and Matěj then gave concerts simultaneously in Žalmanov "...and together" and alternated in Nezmary. As a composer, Matěj collaborated on various songs, for example "Fénix" and "Mys Horn". Pavlína is a long-time pawn of the Czech folk scene.
In 2018, Loes moved from the Netherlands to Prague to learn Czech. On the very first day, she met the violinist and singer Honza Bartošek, with whom she founded an acoustic duo improving the pronunciation of the only Czech song she knew at the time: "Já, písnička". they sang together "Já, písnička". After the concert, Matěj also joined the trio and it was immediately clear that everyone should see each other more often.
The group Matěj, Pavla, Loes & Jan does not prefer one "leader". The musicians alternate in the roles of leader and sideman. You will hear a varied program full of well-known songs - individual musical pearls, which are decorated with strong and colorful vocals. Jan Bartošek connects the pearl necklace with his bow.
Matěj - Jaroslav Matějů: singing, guitar
Pavla - Pavlína Jíšová: vocals, guitar
Loes - Loes van Schaijk: vocals, guitar, double bass
Jan - Honza Bartošek: vocals, violin
