About event
What is it like when you dream about something for many years and it actually happens? Jana Račanová can tell about it - she dreamed of a trip to the American wilderness, which at first seemed unattainable. And so, in her last year of college, she filled almost every gap of her free time with part-time jobs to save up money and go on her dream long-distance trail, the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), or as she says, "a longer walk from the Mexican border to the Canadian border, just some 4,200 kilometers”.
Soon after signing up, she finally stood at the beginning of a beautiful trail and had no idea what adventure awaited her in the next five months. The first Disciples of 2025 will be about unpredictability, snowstorms in the desert, conquering the highest continental mountain in the USA, unforgettable encounters, fear, Sierra Nevada full of snow and deepening love for life and oneself.

From South Bohemia, child occupational therapist and lover of nature and long-distance trails, who gets excited about almost every joke and challenge. She is convinced that the most powerful experiences are created only when we go beyond our comfort zone. He has completed several European trails - GR 11 through the Spanish Pyrenees, GR 131 across the island of Tenerife, Alta Via 1 in the Italian Dolomites and Höga Kustenleden along the High Coast in Sweden. She also crossed most of the Czech and Slovak mountains. In 2024, she fulfilled one of her biggest dreams – crossing the Pacific ridge on the west coast of the USA.
