The project Pearl & Body the project Body
It invests in art that enriches life throughout the city. The AFG aims to make a qualitative and lively art offer in Amsterdam possible for a wide audience. The fund is for artists and cultural organizations, supports both the experiment and proven quality - within all disciplines, in all city districts.
The project “Pearl & Body” has received a subsidy from the period for the COS 2025-2026 , to support our dance production during these two years. Wij zijn het Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst zeer dankbaar voor hun genereuze steun!

workshop hour - show Opium flower
During this special workshop on December 6 we focus on strengthening body consciousness and stimulating sense. The body can be seen as a recipient: when it is touched or stimulated, it opens for new sensations.
In the workshop we use pearls - loose pearls or pearl settings - which we drop on the body decorative. The touch and weight of the pearls will help you experience the importance of physical contact: touch, hug and string.
In our hectic, modern society our brain is constantly overwhelmed with stimuli and information. The workshop offers an opportunity to relax and let go of your thoughts. We let the body speak - the body knows what it needs and what it should let go. By listening to our body, we learn how to best function and what makes us really happy.
This workshop forms a direct connection with our evening performance "Opium flower" . Although the themes of Pearl & Body and Opium Flower are different, they are linked to each other. The workshop offers a unique opportunity to experience the theme of the performance in a deeper, physical way.
Our target group consists of adults (both men and women) interested in dance, body experience and the role of Asian female identity in a Western context. We hope that you participate in the workshop, attend our performance and become part of our growing community!
