PEDRITO MARTÍNEZ - ANTONIO SÁNCHEZ - MICHAEL LEAGUE

In 2018 they performed, for the first and only time, at the North Sea Jazz Festival, where that year Michael League – founder and soul of Snarky Puppy, and Catalan from Texas – served as resident artist. Now they have a finished album, pending publication, which is an incredible lesson in jazz and powerful contemporary music. The percussions and Yoruba songs of the Cuban Pedrito Martínez plus the drums of the Mexican Antonio Sánchez (also a Catalan resident) together with the bass and electronics of League result in a torrent of ideas and rhythmic forces at the service of a completely unexpected music. And they have chosen our festival to present live the new repertoire of a vibrant trio that promises unique nights. Dare.
