About event
As part of the Pop Culture Milestone series, this time we will make Advent more pleasant with screenings of the essence of Czech Christmas, Hřebejkové Pelíšké.

"Proletarians of all countries, lick your ass!" the legendary show, which has entertained the entire Czech Republic at Christmas for 23 years, will return to the big screen for one December evening. Today, Jan Hřebejk's Christmas classic about the fate of two families living in the same villa overflows with retro aesthetics, legendary scenes and music from the sixties. Three generations try to live a "completely normal life" in a completely abnormal time around 1968. While the youngest look for the allures of capitalism, the elders try to establish parental authority, and the oldest just look on melancholy. The comedy drama raises, among other things, philosophical questions such as: Where did the comrades from the GDR go wrong? How big is the Kodiak bear? What is the difference between gnocchi and dumplings?
