PERFORMANCE I Roman Buxbaum: Unknown Artist

The performance by the Czech-Swiss artist and psychotherapist Roman Buxbaum in collaboration with the students of art schools is a tribute to unknown artists from the collections of the National Gallery Prague and also examines our own motivations for creativity, the desire for fame and recognition. The event will take place in the form of a procession, during which a group of performers will lead us through the tourist-exposed Hradčanský náměstí and through the contrastingly quiet halls of the National Gallery's collections of old masters, presenting the works of world-famous and forgotten giants of art history. We are waiting for the confrontation of the body-sound presence of performing and "silent" works on the walls, somatic-meditative spatial interaction, including a choreographic dialogue with the works of Albrecht Dürer and El Greco in the Renaissance hall of the Schwarzenberg Palace, and finally the ceremonial unveiling of the monument to an unknown artist and an aperitif in the garden of the Šternber Palace. 🍹

📣 The performance will take place at 11.30 and 16.30.
