About event
Experience pingpong or search for an intercontinental language on a performance reading from Lingua Franco! 😍
Brazilian writer Tiago de Abreu Pinto (1984, Salvador), author of Lingua Franco's publication and curator of the same exhibition, presented at the Bratislava City Gallery at the turn of 2023 and
2024, is looking for and finding in the work of Brazilian and Slovak Conceptual Language. 🧐
As a result of curator's meetings with the personalities of conceptual art, which he invited to the original exhibition project, the essay is accompanied by documentation of works, looking for differences and penetrations in their creation, common themes similar to the starting points, diverse processing. 🖼️
Asks whether it is really possible to find "national differences" in the works of artists from different countries and continents. Whether in the language of conceptual art is not mainly about human and artistic experience, the need to create and tell what deserves thoughts and words. 👀
According to the author, there is an internationally comprehensible testimony - a universal language, albeit at a different time and in different places. His considerations invites to a common conversation, encourages new interpretations, penetrations or questions. 🤔
Play: Peter Kadlečík, Michal Kinik
Director: Veronika Malgot
concept: Veronika Malgot, Katarína Karafová
Author and authors represented in exhibition project and publications: Daučíková, Ľubomír Ďurček, Petra Feriancová, Marcius Galan, Július Koller, André Komatsu, Maria Noujaim, Parente, Marco Paulo Rolla and Jana Želibská
