Robert Wilson honors one of the most original figures of twentieth -century modernism, in a show that looks at Fernando Pessoa's poetry as a search and deep interrogation of language as existence. “His creativity was expressed through the worship and liberation of the multiple is that existed in his head. They were not pseudonyms. It was him, but it wasn't him either. Person called them heteronyms. It was his allies in a great adventure, the search for the voice freed from poetry, ”writes Darryl Pinckney, responsible for the dramaturgy.
Person - Since I'm Been Me, premiered in May 2024 at the Della Pergola Theater in Florence, Italy, evokes the various atmospheres of people's works, mood fluidity, whether meditative or horny, rational or anatically. A life shared with heteronimic personalities such as Alexander Search, Bernardo Soares, Vicente Guedes, Alberto Caeiro, Alvaro de Campos or Ricardo Reis. “Wilson's freedom of image is equivalent to these happy and serious skeptics of metaphysics. The director presents a person and his circle as scapists of traditional philosophical concepts, ”continues Pinckney,“ Wilson is as attentive as person to the reality of dreams and lack of confidence in concrete. Emotions and sensations are mysteries. The strength of person's poetic imagination lies in his desire to write and to continue to write against doubt and his extraordinary ability to do so in a language after another. Capturing the essence of the relationship of the human soul with the physical world is a song that questions. ”
