About event
CZ
Péter Donka (*1987) is a Hungarian visual artist who arrives in Brno thanks to the international residential program for illustrators of creil. From mid -March to mid -April, he will be a guest of the Jiří Mahen Library, where he will also present an exhibition of his works, partly created during his stay in Brno. The core of his work is to find mutual intersections between drawing and painting, which consists of intertwining techniques and the use of often monumental formats. His biggest coal drawing was 17.5m long! It also creates a site-specific installation of small-format drawings on paper, which it installs in large numbers (500-750pcs). With exaggeration, he speaks of himself as a man who has hated painting for so long until he has been drawn to his completion at the university. He currently teaches at the Secondary Art School of Medgyessy Ferenc in Debrecene, where he also lives and devotes himself to art.
The international residential program of the Kreil for Illustrators is realized by the Department of Culture of the City of Brno in cooperation with the library of Jiří Mahen in Brno.
