Petr Smékal Quartet // Ponava

Petr Smékal Quartet was founded by the Saxophonist Brno Petr Smékal in an attempt to musical self -expression not only as a player but also as a composer. He surrounded himself with young but already musically experienced graduates of the Jazz Department of JAMU - Josef Hanulík plays guitar, Hubert Holásek and Daniel Křivánek drums. The sound of the band has jazz roots, but it does not win in genre, but always builds on strong bass lines and distinctive melodies.
