Last year, Mary was written as a promising discovery of the Czech music scene. This is mainly due to the debut album Summer will come again, co -author of the composer Simon Keller. The album combines the sounds of guitars, synths, electra and pop with the bustle of Prague streets. The author's texts are the testimony of young girls who, thanks to an authentic speech, can draw listeners into the world of adolescence and evening city. A period of strong emotions, which I would call the beginning of adolescence. Looking back, I usually find it like one long winter. On the album I also touch the topic of hope and dealing with change. Maybe that's why the album is called 'Summer will come again', ”says Mary, the fresh winner of the starter of Radio Wave. In 2024 she released a successful video single as possible. With the band, concerts with post music, Amélia Siba, Viah, something, Tommy Lefroy (UK), Waterbased (SK), Tess Parks (Can), or The Vices (NL) and summer festivals like stove! CE or ruinfest. . Futuristic-ostalgic sound carved by pulsating synthesizers illustrate distinctive Czech texts and emotional, sometimes brutalist singing. Diy Elán and inspired by the neo -romantic legacy and aesthetics of Depeche Mode or the ocean flew after the album debut Donkichot's ideals (2023) into the previous year with six new singles - *Kupid's Arrow, Metropolis of dreams, freesia, black catharsis, Epsilon *and Tesco. >
Cosmetics Institute in his work draws on the influence of the 80s New Wave. The austere syntha, drum slot machines and post-punk guitar riffs are complemented by melancholic texts that deal with the empty places of the outer and inner world, the infinite imagination inside the rapidly fleeing city and eternal dreams of falling aircraft. The electronic-bitch duo of long-time friends from Brno started its work in the spring of 2023 with a debut EP called 4 7 8, which in autumn 2024 is followed by the second EP endless imagination.
