About event
“The whole of Eyland must become a paradise,” Johann Moritz von Nassau-Siegen advised his friend Friedrich Wilhelm in 1664. Although this referred to Potsdam, it also had an impact on Berlin. Berlin is a green city with its avenues, parks, allotments and, not to forget, the many green balconies. Recently, the parks departments have been keen to grow edibles on green spaces. Instead of the linden tree there is a walnut tree, instead of the dogwood there is a currant bush. Private individuals and initiatives are transforming fallow land into mobile gardens. From the center to the outskirts of the city, we explore along subway line 6 to what extent Berlin is not only green, but also edible.
