De Duif aan de Prinsengracht is een fraai voorbeeld van neoclassicistische architectuur.
De kerk ontleent haar naam aan een Pastor: the 17th-century shelter church "The peace pigeon", which once stood on Kerkstraat. From 1795, Catholics were again permission to build churches on the public road, and the peace pigeon was the first in Amsterdam that used this relaxation.
