Songs from cabinet #16 will bring an evening where the precise guitar poetry of Šimanský & Niesner meets the subtle magical melancholy of Mari & Anna.
An evening of gentle sounds, introspective melodies and unexpected connections.
Guitar duo Šimanský & Niesner brings a hypnotic combination of American primitivism, Czech folk and Eastern motifs, while Mari & Anna they combine harp, piano and voice into a dreamy, emotional whole. Music that heals, talks and dissolves in the space.

✨ Šimanský & Niesner (CZ)
The duo of guitarists Jakub Šimanský and Tomáš Niesner made their debut in 2019 with the album Unknown dances (Stoned to Death). Both previously worked for almost ten years in the noise-rock band Unna, but their joint work is in the spirit of intimate minimalism, mantric repetition and hypnotic melodies.
They follow the tradition of American primitivism, Czech folk and Eastern music, while using their own, unmistakable approach to tuning and rhythm. Their compositions also appeared on the prestigious compilation Imaginal Anthem Vol. X of the American label Tompkins Square. ✨ Mari & Anna (CZ/DE)
Harp, piano, guitar, whales and tears. The Mari & Anna project arose from the meeting of two classmates from elementary school - years later, over coffee and with concerns about old diaries.
Anna Hokešová (Metastavy, Cáry Života) is a pianist, sound engineer and composer working in Berlin, while Mariana Jouzová is an award-winning harpist, a graduate of the Prague Conservatory and HAMU, who works with important symphony orchestras. Their work together is fragile, playful and melancholic - like deconstructing shame with a dandelion elixir.
