Who doesn't know Pinocchio, a boy carved out of wood, who grows as he lies nos?
Carlo Collodi's fairy tale was first published in 1883. It has seen many literary, film and theatrical adaptations. Pinocchio is about dreaming, longing, wanting. He has something to say to each of us. It's a story we've heard a thousand times, but there's something in it that makes us want to hear it again.
I'd like to be the kind of boy who regrets a bad thing.
I want to be the kind of boy who can shed tears.
I want to have feelings,
I want to feel.
What should I do, dear lady? How do I have a chance to catch myself,
when I am tempted by a different path...
About the theater...
The set of Materinka was created at the end of 1977 like a puppet troupe. The name Materinka was chosen by the ensemble members because they were kindergarten teachers at the time. Since then, the theater has had dozens of award-winning productions and plays dedicated mainly to children.
Songs and dance...
The main characteristic of the Materinka Theater is the author's approach to the creation of performances. The author's text and music are already well-known attributes of the theater, which are known to children from all over Slovakia, but also from beyond the borders.

The story of a wooden puppet that he longs to become a living boy. It is actually the story of all of us who desire to achieve something extraordinary, unusual in life, we desire things that are unattainable
while forgetting the basic values and gifts of life and especially the family, which is actually the fulfillment of our desire.
