Písně ztracených duší

Lieder Society, in cooperation with the Run Operun, presents the semi-medical site-specific performance of the songs of lost souls. The reprise takes place as part of the Opera 2025 festival. This unusual happening will introduce participants to the old cemetery, which will be created in the Savarin Riding School. Individual souls tell their tragic, sometimes grotesque stories. The music of J. Brahms, F. Schubert, C. Schumann, F. Liszta, G. Mahler, A. Dvořák, Z. Fibich, A. V. Horák. The dramaturgy of the zone draws from fascination with the aesthetics of darkness and supernatural, which dominated the artistic circles of this era, and connects them with folk literature full of fearsome and mysterious motifs. Spectators find themselves in a world where melancholy and horror intertwine with a desire for redemption. Ghost figures and ghosts come to life through music so that at the end of the evening they can find salvation.
