About event
Do you teach at the second level of elementary school or high school and are you not afraid to think about new ways of education? And what about using the wealth of our folk culture?
Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic has dozens of thousands of records of folk songs in its documentation funds, which are still waiting to return from the archive back to society. As part of the Song project, we are looking for ways to revive songs at all levels of schools.
Come and try how to use folk song and dance in music and physical activities in teaching several items. Your experience and feedback will help us develop our project and seek inspiring ways of using folk culture in education, ways from archival components to teachers and their pupils.
Good themes to diversify the teaching never enough and we would like to bring such.
At the seminar, we will try activities usable in teaching with lecturers Jakub Kacar (Prague Conservatory, PF UJEP and ZUŠ Litoměřice), Matěj Kratochvíl, Petr Nuska and Zdeněk Vejvoda (Department of Ethnomusicology and Ethnochoreology of the EU AS CR). In addition to the experience of creative work with this material, you will get demonstrations of documents and publications of the Institute of Ethnology ASCR.
The seminar will take place on May 21, from 15 to 17:30 in the premises of the Ethnomuzikology and Ethnochoreology Department of the Institute of Ethnology of the ASCR, Pushkinovo náměstí 9, Prague 6.
free of charge after registration. The number of places is limited.
