About event

The Prague Children's and Youth Olympiad will prepare an interactive PLAY/CHILL ZONE for the public at the 2026 Children's and Youth Olympiad.

The Children's and Youth Olympiad 2026 will take place from June 21 to 25, 2026 and will bring approximately 3,500 young athletes from all over the Czech Republic to the capital. The meeting center for athletes, parents and the general public will be the Olympic House at the Exhibition Grounds. From June 22 to 25, 2026, the PLAY/CHILL ZONE of the Prague DDM will also be created in its immediate vicinity.

The zone will be open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will offer space for active rest, movement, creativity, technology and relaxation. It will be intended mainly for children and young people aged 12-16, but families with children and other visitors to the Olympics will also be able to participate.

The aim of the PLAY/CHILL ZONE is not only to offer an attractive accompanying program. Prague Children's and Youth Houses want to present to the public the current form of interest-based education - as a space where children can learn through play, experience, cooperation and discovery. Without pressure to perform, with respect for the various interests, abilities and personal preferences of each child.

Visitors will be able to try dozens of physical, sensory, creative and technological activities during the four days. There will be, for example, bumper ball, hobby horsing, disc golf, KanJam, cornhole, balance and coordination activities, a barefoot trail, bouncy castle, pedal cars, sensory games, virtual reality Beat Saber, 3D printing or small game and team challenges.

The zone will also include a central PLAY/CHILL POINT – an information, game and relaxation point where visitors can learn more about the offer of Prague children's homes and youth and about the program of the entire zone. There will be digital and board games, thematic challenge activities, virtual reality and a space for quieter stopping and rest.

"We want to show that children's and youth homes are a lively and modern space for children, teenagers and families. They offer not only clubs, but also opportunities to discover, try new things, collaborate, create, move and experience the joy of personal development. PLAY/CHILL ZONE it is a taste of what interest-based education can offer in Prague," say representatives of the Prague DDM network.

The zone program naturally follows on from the main idea of the Children and Youth Olympics – to support an active lifestyle, fair play, cooperation, health care and to motivate children and young people to exercise and personal development. At the same time, the PLAY/CHILL ZÓNA expands the Olympic

atmosphere beyond the sports field: it offers a space for meeting, sharing experiences and discovering new ways of spending free time.

Prague Children and Youth Homes will thus present the public with a colorful world of interest-based education during the 2026 Children and Youth Olympics - a world in which movement, technology, creativity, rest, cooperation and the joy of discovery have a place.
