About event
PNS at the Železná Studnička
The PNS project is a work of art by the artist Stan Masár, it premiered at the Kunsthalle Bratislava (2017) and toured the Pohoda and Divadelná Nitra festivals. In May 2025, it became a dedicated gallery of contemporary art at the Žilina Záriečie Station and in front of the New Synagogue.
PNS is an abbreviation of the Postal Newspaper Service, where period print, postcards, stamps and tobacco were sold - it is a stand, newsagent, kiosk. We are moving the newspaper stand to the position of a gallery with an exposition or a community place where works of art meet viewers in a public space.
The exhibition at the PNS stand will be a memory of November 17. It will present the works of authors who are devoted to freedom, totalitarian ideologies, but also critical thinking. With the exhibition, we want to respond to the current alarming situation in society, the spread of misinformation and hoaxes, the loss of trust in institutions, a divided society, the hunt for minorities or non-profit organizations and the deviation from the democratic values that connect us to Europe.
In the future, we will present individual and group exhibition projects of domestic and foreign authors and will focus on ecological and climate topics and will move towards the concept of "galleries in forest".
PNS will present the following authors at the Železná Studnička: Katarína Balúnová, Gabriela Birošová, Ladislav Čarný, Anton Čierny, Mária Čorejová, Eva Filová, Tomáš Forró, Peter Kalmus, Branči Vec Kováč, Martin Knut, Kundy Crew, Zorka Lednárová, Stano Masár, Matúš Maťátko, Martin Piaček, Tomáš Rafa, Rudolf Sikora, Magda Stanová, Dorota Sadovská, Ivana Šáteková, Martin Shooty Šútovec, Ján Triaška.
Project curators: Marek Adamov and Juraj Čarný
PNS on Železná studnička can be found in the middle of the forest - in the grounds of the restored Ferdinand baths, in the sculpture studio of F. X.
