About event
Author's dance production by choreographer Jan Razima dealing with the theme of existentialism.
A lonely character talks to himself, lost in the middle of his own landscape painting. Why do I exist? Why? do i exist During his stay in the countryside, he searches for his lost meaning. He has to deal with feelings of futility and loneliness. With the absurd nature of life. So that reconciliation can take place.
The name Stay comes from the translation of the German term "Dasein". It contains the word "being" as well as the determination of the place of this being. So it could also be translated as "being here". In many languages this term is not translated, the Czech equivalent was created by the philosopher Jan Patočka. The term "Stay" also contains a kind of contingency and finitude. It speaks of overcoming the opposition of being and nothingness. Both become just his moment.
