About event
A kind of mascot of the Poetics of Encryption exhibition became the work of the Panoramic cat (2022) by the author of Eva & Franco Mattes. It is a cat object, which is unnaturally elongated and has two pairs of legs extra, because it is based on a failed panoramic photography. This method has been a privilege of technically proficient photographers in the past, but today it is available to almost every owner of a smartphone. Unfortunately, it is not always 100 % reliable, as evidenced by the flood of photographic "mistakes" that is virally spreading over the Internet. Among other things, the authors show us how an unreliable means of digital photography distorts “real” life. Such a photograph then transfers from the flat space to a sculptural work, which returns the distorted and deformed cat back to the real and tangible world.
, but the unpredictable medium will not be a smartphone for us, but our own drawing record. How to deal with the chance he will prepare and empty places that we will have to supplement with our own imagination? The resulting animals are then transformed into small clay statues. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, February 23 at 14:00! Parents can join or have children form with our lecturers and in the meantime to go through the Poetics of Encryption exhibition undisturbed. Entry to her is free.
