About event
The airship Gulliver on the roof of DOX is celebrating its 10th birthday, for which it received its own Poesiomat. 🚀
A festive welcome and listening to a live reading from the stories, poems, letters and diaries of those who once fell for the allure of airships, either as passengers or just as enchanted landmen.
How did the German writer Hermann Hesse experience his first airship in 1911, and how did the British novelist D.H. Lawrence capture the sight of an airship over wartime London? How did their captains experience piloting these aerial giants over the pyramids or the North Pole in the 1930s? And how did the Gulliver airship itself on the roof of DOX inspire Czech writers? The Poesiomat on board the airship Gulliver will become a repository for all these (and in the future, other) stories that you as visitors will be able to listen to yourself at any time. However, you will only be able to experience live readings performed by well-known actors such as Ester Geislerová, Vojtěch Vondráček, Jan Zadražil, Miloslav König or Václav Vašák during this one evening. Don't miss it and fly with us.
Kryštof Bartoš, Pavel Batěk, Aňa Geislerová, Ester Geislerová, Petr Konáš, Miloslav König, Václav Vašák, Vojtěch Vondráček, Jiří Vyorálek and Jan Zadražil read the texts for Poesiomat.
Text authors: Richard Brautigan, Lincoln Ellsworth, Hugo Eckener, Seamus Heaney, Hermann Hesse, Marie Iljašenko, Roy Knabenshue, D.H. Lawrence, Jay Meek, Jan Němec.
Text translations and editing: Martin Svoboda, Alena Dvořáková, Vladimír Tomeš, Matouš Turek
The author of the Poesiomat network project in the Czech Republic is Ondřej Kobza.
The texts for the Poesiomat of the airship Gulliver were chosen by Michaela Šilpochová.
Production: Helena Bartošová
