About event

Poetry and: vulnerability
30. 06. 2026 (Tuesday)
18:00-19:30
Summer reading room U červenho raka, Michalská 26

What do we consider vulnerability today - and how is it possible to write about it?
The guests of the opening event of the series "Poézia a" will be the architect and debuting poet Pavel Bakajsa, the author of the collection Zošit Milana Demek, and a film scholar and the poet Mária Ferenčuhová, author of the books Immunity, Černozem and Endangered Species. The third guest of the evening will be the psychologist Zuzana Ivanecká, who will approach the topic from a professional perspective.

Together we will open the topic of vulnerability, closeness, defense mechanisms and the need to be heard.

During the event, we will bring to life the book Zošit Milan Demek. connecting contemporary poetry with themes that resonate in everyday life as well as in professional discourse. During three summer evenings, the focus will be on vulnerability, story and physicality – themes that are present in contemporary Slovak poetry and at the same time open up space for interdisciplinary dialogue.
Each meeting will bring author readings, interpretations of poetic texts and discussion with expert guests from the fields of psychology, literary science or humanities. The cycle will offer space for thinking about how poetry can name a personal experience, mediate memory, tell stories or reflect a person's relationship with their own body.

Program:
30. 06. – Poetry and: vulnerability
28. 07. – Poetry and: story
18. 08. – Poetry and: physicality
