About event
The bonus part Poetry & piano The newest debuts will be held in an unconventional way on Sunday 24 November 2024 from 20:00 in the labyrinth of Vinárny u Sudu. We have the honor to end the Poetry Day festival with Poetry & Piano. For the bonus part, we invited female and male poets who had already read with us and had their first collections published this year.
You can look forward to:
Anna Řezníčková – poet, novelist and woman behind the scenes of cultural events. Her short story Old broken things was published in the anthology Protipól (No Limits, 2019) and the cycle of poems Megaslimák in the anthology Básne SK/CZ 2021. In October 2024, her first collection Ahoy we have known each other for a long time, you are also a person, published by publishing house Fra. Anna writes (not only) about pines, snails and saws.
Běla Čápová – poet, guitarist and teacher. She studied ethnology at the FF UK and classical guitar at the conservatory in Teplice. She is a member of the NaHajana art group. This year, her colorful and lively collection Cucat inner meow was published by the Malvern publishing house. Běla knows how to play with words and sound, but her poems are far from just about that. When the piano is played, tigers and cheetahs dance with her.
Vojtěch Štěpán – poet, journalist and laureate of the Klement Bochořák Special Prize as part of the František Halas Literary Prize, thanks to which his debut book, Good Reason, was published by the publishing house Vlčenűcűm na štěměn. He studied bohemian studies and journalism. Nature, sometimes stony and desolate, speaks above all in his poetry. We find ourselves in impressive micro-stories as well as short pointed poems that take place in a slightly Scandinavian world or in the "Black Kiev Spring".
Sufian Massalema – poet, slammer and co-organizer of literary and cultural events. He is studying law at PF UK, and at the same time attends the field of Middle Eastern studies at FF UK. His texts have been translated into Polish, Spanish, English, Arabic and Vietnamese. In 2022, he won the Václav Hrabět literary prize. He made his debut with the collection Possibilities of the Overlooked, published by the Větrné mlýny publishing house in the Mlat edition. The collection is sensitive, delicate, foreign and domestic at the same time. Empathetic, full of respect, but also with a healthy and amused outlook.
Marta Krausová – poet, lawyer and co-organizer of Poetry and Piano. She studied law and art studies. In 2021, she participated in the František Halas Literary Competition, in which she won the jury award. He tries to write about the world he sees. He is not afraid of sentiment and pop. Her first collection, Roztřesky a remixy, was published this fall by the publishing house Dobrý výště.
In addition to the poets, of course, pianist Pavel Apes must not be missing.
The evening will be accompanied by the traditional duo of presenters and poets Štěpánka Borská and Marta Krausová.
