The series of author's poetry readings is organized by the website Nědelní chvilka poezie and the Za školou club. The theme of the November evening will be V. V. Mayakovsky. Guests Tim Postovit, Jana Kitzlerová + Vojtěch Frank, Kino Peklo. Presented by Jonáš Hájek.

The Academia publishing house has published a new translation of Mayakovsky's poems in two volumes. What is the translation of the Russian poet-rabble-rouser good for? Can it still inspire today, or is it just a historical value, inseparable from Mayakovsky's commitment to the Bolshevik revolution? Was Mayakovsky the forefather of slam? Debate, demonstrations, author's performances.

Tim Postovit (1996, Kyiv). In 2019, he made his debut with the book Magistrála (Pointa) represented in the Best Czech Poems yearbook. Translates from Ukrainian and Russian. In 2019, he won the shared title of champion of the Czech Republic in duo slam. In 2021, he published a collection of poems The Butterfly Pavilion (Guest). In 2022, he was nominated for the Václav Burian Award. His lyrics have been translated into ten European languages.

Jana Kitzlerová (*1978), Russian, translator, whose professional interest is in the poetry of Vladimir Mayakovsky, as well as other poets especially of the first half of the 20th century (Velemir Khlebnikov, Andrej Platonov, Daniil Charms), grew into an interest in translating their works into Czech. Together with V. Frank, she prepared e.g. a new Czech translation of Mayakovsky's poems (Poems, I–II, Prague: Academia 2021 and 2024) and an extensive committee from the work of Velemir Chlebnikov (The gift of the witch I have, sisters of the sky, Prague: Academia, in press), she independently translated e.g. works by Igor Pomerancev, poems by Viktor Pivovarov or Andrej Platonov. He is currently working on the Czech committee on the poems of Daniil Charms.

Vojtěch Frank (*1995) is a translator, music composer and dramaturg. He deals with the translation of poetry and prose from Russian and Latvian, together with Jana Kitzlerová he created a new Czech translation of complete poems by Vladimir Mayakovsky (Poems, I–II, Prague: Academia 2021 and 2024) and selected poems by Velemir Khlebnikov (Dar charodějky mám, sestry nebeoké, Prague: Academia, in press), independently translated Maximilian Vološin's poems and Oleg Zobern's prose (Autobiography Jesus Christ, Zlín: Kniha Zlín, 2020). As a composer, she specializes in theater music and currently works as dramaturg of the Pilsen Opera.

Kino Peklo (born 1993) is a Czech poet, performer and musician. She has published five books so far, including the collections Borderline (Adolescent, 2022, in collaboration with Richard L. Kramár and Barbora Maleninská) and Fuga (Adolescent, 2024). Programmatically, it deals with death, destruction, noise, the will to meaning, corporeality and queerness. Her poems were translated into several European languages ​​and were also included in the Best Czech Poems yearbook. She has released several music recordings, she is active in the side music project Tmaruška, she has just released a recording of Spievanky with the group Púčik (with Richard L. Kramár). She works as an editor and dramaturg at the Adolescent publishing house, manages the music label a~scent (an offshoot of the publishing house) and prepares the a~lotrium podcast as a producer. He also writes essays in various literary periodicals (Tvar, Revue Prostor). As a curator, she works with the Psí víno platform.
